At Ziel Cosmetic Studio, our priority is your satisfaction and safety. Proper aftercare is crucial to achieving the best results and minimising the risk of complications.
Below, you'll find detailed aftercare instructions for Skin treatments, Antiwrinkle Injections, Rejuran and Dermal Filler treatments. Please read through them carefully and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
As a general rule, it’s wise to take it easy for 24 hours post any minor cosmetic procedure. Stay well hydrated and if you have any concerns - please contact Nurse Lizzie directly on 0493 149 258.
Juv'ae has a comprehensive aftercare document available for injectable treatments that require a script (you would have received this with a copy of your signed consent form). If you cannot locate your original copy and would like to review this information, you can access it here.

Skin Treatments
Your post-procedure after care can greatly enhance recovery after receiving a peel or microneedling session (with or without mesotherapy). It may also assist in reducing the risk of potential side effects that can occur post procedure.
Please review the following post-procedure care recommendations to ensure optimal results from your treatment today:
Your skin may present with redness, swelling, discomfort, tightness and peeling for up to 7 days. This is a normal response. If you become concerned with your skin response, please contact Nurse Lizzie immediately.
- If prone to cold sores, medication may be necessary. You can get antivirals from your local pharmacist.
- Strict sun avoidance is advised.
- Be mindful of infection. Hands off the treated area for 24 hours and be careful of contact with animals/pets.
- Ensure your sheets and pillowcases are clean
- Avoid hot showers, baths, swimming pools and spas
- Avoid vigorous exercise
1 week after your treatment you may resume:
- Physical exfoliation including microdermabrasion, scrubs and loofahs
- Hair removal including waxing, depilation creams and laser hair reduction
- Application of self tanning products
- Filler or anti wrinkle injections
2 weeks after your treatment you may resume:
- Professional skin treatments
Broad-spectrum sunscreen must be applied regularly from today and for the remainder of your treatment series.
Ideally, Lizzie recommends physical avoidance of the sun in all treated areas and regular application of a broad-spectrum sun block of SPF 30 or higher. Incidental sun exposure, i.e., driving to and from work, walking from your car to the house, etc., will still require application of a full-spectrum sun block of SPF 30 or higher.

Antiwrinkle Injections
To ensure you get the most out of your Antiwrinkle injections and avoid any unwanted side effects, please follow these simple but important guidelines:
Hands Off: Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours. This helps prevent the product from moving to unintended areas and significantly reduces the risk of developing an infection.
Temperature Awareness: For the next 48 hours, steer clear of extremes of temperature. This means no saunas, hot spas, or activities that cause excessive sweating. Also, avoid applying ice directly to the treated areas.
Pause on Beauty Treatments: Refrain from having any other beauty treatments on the treated areas for the next week. This includes facials, massages, or any other skin treatments.
-
Rejuran
Avoid Touching the Treated Area: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area for 24 hours. This helps prevent infection and allows the product to settle properly.
Stay Away from Heat: Avoid heat exposure such as saunas, hot showers, or intense exercise for 48 hours after treatment. Heat can increase swelling and discomfort.
Hydration is Key: Keep the treated area moisturised with a gentle, hydrating product (make sure you don't apply within the first 6 hours and apply with clean hands!) Drinking plenty of water will also support optimal healing.
Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen when outdoors to protect the healing skin and prevent hyperpigmentation.
No Makeup for 24 Hours: Avoid applying makeup to the treated areas for at least 24 hours to minimize the risk of irritation and infection.
Avoid Alcohol and Smoking: For at least 24-48 hours post-treatment, avoid alcohol and smoking, as these can impair the healing process.
Be Gentle with Your Skin: For a few days post-treatment, avoid exfoliating products, retinoids, and other active ingredients that might irritate your skin.
Monitor for Unusual Reactions: Mild swelling, bruising, and redness are common and should subside within a few days. However, if you experience severe pain, prolonged redness, or any signs of infection (such as excessive swelling, heat, or pus), contact us immediately.

Filler Injections
Dermal fillers require special attention to ensure your results are as stunning as possible. Here's what you need to know:
Stay Cool: Avoid exposing the treated areas to extreme temperatures, such as hot showers, saunas, or sunbathing, for at least 48 hours. This helps prevent swelling and potential discomfort.
Hands Off: Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours. This helps to prevent infection.
Cool Compress Only: Do not apply ice directly to the treated area. Instead, use a cool compress from the fridge if you need to soothe the area.
Avoid Pressure: Try not to apply prolonged hard pressure to the treated areas for 2 weeks post procedure. This helps prevent the filler from shifting.
Discomfort is Normal: Some discomfort is expected after filler treatment. If needed, Panadol can help alleviate any mild pain. Any excessive discomfort should be reported back to Nurse Lizzie ASAP.
Hydration is Key: Drink plenty of water to help keep hydrated and aid in the settling of the filler and healingof the trauma caused to tissues from your procedure.
Delay Beauty Treatments: As with Antiwrinkle injections, avoid other facial treatments such as facials, peels, or microdermabrasion for at least two weeks. This ensures that your skin has ample time to heal and adapt to the fillers.
